Ashford in the Water, Derbyshire

Sheepwash Bridge spans the River Wye in the Derbyshire Peak District village of Ashford in the Water. The ancient sheep wash pen (bottom right) is where local farmers washed their sheep in the river during Well Dressing week before shearing as a clean fleece fetched a higher price at market.
